IS IT SAFE TO SHIP A PUPPY????
TRACY'S OPINION (NOT ALWAYS RIGHT)

Is it safe to ship a puppy?

This is often a question that is asked me , and this is, notice the category, my opinion and my response.

If the crate the puppy is coming in is prepared properly and the puppy has ample food and water available, and warmth, the pup is going to be just fine.

If a puppy gets sick on the airplane the puppy will get sick in a car, point being the ride in the car is just as hard on a pup...................sometimes harder than the flight on the plane. when they are tucked in their carrier, most the time they take a nap.

The airlines have very stringent rules for handling pups and are inspected on a regular basis. If for some reason there is a delay and the puppy is held in transit they are trained to care for them and have holding places where they are cared for.

Temperature becomes an issue only while getting them to and from the plane. Once on the plane the temperature is controlled and they are kept comfortable.

Most breeders would never ship a pup if they didn't think they would be safe.

So if you have a puppy you would like to purchase but the travel part of it scares you I am writing this to help ease your mind.

Honestly, they will be fine, will get there faster in most cases, and are in their own space while traveling.

Never have I had a problem when i thought the pup was endangered while shipping.

WHAT IF I HAVE A CAT?????
TRACY'S OPINION (NOT ALWAYS RIGHT)

Alot of people ask me when buying a toy breed pup...........................what if i have a cat????

In my opinion as long as the cat is declawed...................and not vicious...................as some can be. (they say puppies have owners, cats have servants.) The cat will learn to tolerate. The puppy will love the cat and the cat will be upset with you for a time but in the end they will probably end up being good friends.

Noone knows the cat better than the owner. If you are comfortable taking your puppy around the cat it will be fine.

And remember, puppies are very smart. It never hurts to teach them to say "meow" really quick on the way home :)

I have a happy-happy puggle who is almost 2. I also have 4 cats and had three of them when Carlin (puggle) entered our family. Two of them LOVE her and play with her. She chases their toys and flips the toys in the air for the cats to chase. She tries to tip the cats by putting her nose under their bellies and pushing up. It is hilarious! The other two just kind of ignore her.
